Silas Ashby

I'm a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University with a major in recording arts and a minor in Southeast Asian Studies. I currently reside in the Chicagoland area. I have a wide range of skills in songwriting, producing, and engineering. 

I played in Chinese and Thai ensembles in college, focusing on the Thai classical instrument Ranat-ek. My interest in music started in middle school when I read my father's college music theory textbook. Music Theory became my favorite subject in high school. Combining eastern music influences with my love of music theory, I've developed a unique sound and style with a fluidity and hunger to stretch the bounds of performance and composition.
